I really loved doing this layout for the Creative Embellishments challenge this month. I used a photo of my daughter's Austinie and Chandler because I just think they are adorable together here.
Here is the astoundingly beautiful sketch I worked with and the mood photo. I really don't know if you can make a layout more lovely than the sketch? In fact, I thought it was so pretty that I actually used some of it on my layout...as you will see in a moment.
I loved the colors and the movement in the mood photo and I tried to emulate the undulating flow in my layout. Also, I think my daughters look a little pixie-ish in the photo.
I thought the sentiment was so perfect - as I love it when I see how my daughters are kind and loving toward each other - it really does make me so happy.
As usual, I really enjoyed doing a lot of background work of layering, stencil w/texture, water-color painting, inking, stamping and gesso - fun, fun, fun! I found the clock on Pinterest and printed and fussy cut it out - it almost looks real. Additionally, I used some plastic netting (like for fruit) in the backdrop and just painted it with gesso, too. It was a really cool effect.
I made the little trinket with some gesso, Stickles, beads and Crackle Accents.
Okay - am I a fan, or what of this amazing chipboard by Creative Embellishments - I'll tell ya, I LOVE it and I really give the company their props - really intricate designs and perfectly cut! I used gesso, clear glitter and Liquid Pearls to dress this beauty up.
Now, for the interesting part. I printed out the sketch on cardstock and made this cute little banner out of the sketch and backed each one with some crocheted trim! How about that for resourcefulness...and it fit my layout perfectly!!!!
Lastly, I added some scrumptious flowers (I really love the Wild Orchid Crafts roses,) a little gesso and some pretty little pearls and rhinestones that I ripped off of my daughter's pants - I don't know if she was too happy about that but that is what you get when you live with a creative person.
So I hope you think my layout is pretty and I really love your endearing comments...
Have a wonderful day, friends!
