I am pleased to share this layout I created for the Flying Unicorn CT June "Your Passion Your Art" Kit of the Month. This is such gorgeous paper from Riddersholm Design - I felt like I had to use all of it and I nearly did on this layout alone (6 different patterns)!!! I loved how all of the papers seamlessly coordinated so that I could layer to my heart's content! The photo is my daughter Payton (I kept her eyes blue in the photo to correlate to the papers.)
I started out by cutting out half-moon circles and layering them below the photo. Next I added several more layers of paper at the top to give me the background platform from which to build. I love to add stitching to my pages so I stitched a border across the page.
Then next thing I created was the banner. I used several repeating patterns and arranged them how I wanted. I also backed the photo with a small doily from my stash.
Then I added the gorgeous flowers from Petaloo and Maya Road. I wanted a "trailing" look to them so I arranged them from largest on top to the smaller ones cascading down.
Then I added some fussy-cut butterflies, buttons and other embellishments.
Lastly, I added Shimmerz to complete the look, almost as if paint is dripping down a weathered fence in the background.
