For this months Mood Board Challenge at Maja Designs, I tried to stay close to the colors presented, although it is not very nautical. I did; however, like the song and the key words that prompted this layout of my sister and her old high school band.

Here is the wonderful inspiration board...
I started off by "saddle stitching" around the page and layering the pages and punched edge. I also distressed the edge and used a technique I learned from Gabrielle Pollacco to give a "pie crust" looking edge to the top paper. I inked, stamped and stenciled clocks in the background, as well.
Then I additionally stitched around the photo mats and lightly altered the amazing chipboard pieces by Creative Embellishments. I wanted them mostly raw in keeping with the color scheme. I used Smooch to color the leaves green and I fussy cut clocks to place randomly behind the flourishes. Then I added fussy cut roses here and there to dress it a tad more.
I used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts - I LOVE them! I used a little Distress Ink on a couple of white roses to get the color I wanted.

I added a little Webster's Pages Bloomers trim and more flowers. I also cut out an oval and put it in a blank and covered it with glossy accents to make my own Maja Design trinket.
I am very fond of this layout and will be giving it to my sister. I hope she likes it, and I hope you do to! Thanks for stopping in!
