First Day

Hello everyone! Lainie here, and I would like to share with you a layout that I created featuring a photo of my son Seth - just a wee day old. For this layout, I did some light stamping and some paint splattering on the background.
The first piece of Creative Embellishments chipboard I used was from the Flourish Butterfly Set 2. I started out by inking the butterfly with Prima Chalk Ink in Dark Bark and backing the butterfly with some paper. I trimmed away the excess and then covered the whole thing with Crackle Accents. While it was still wet, I added dots of Blue Liquid Pearls here and there so it spread just a bit while drying.

I really had fun with this fabulous piece from the Door Knobs collection. I really wanted to see if I could make it look like it was made of metal. I began by decorating the edges with Liquid Pearls in Dark Chocolate. Once that dried, I painted over everything with 13 Arts Ayeeda Matte Black Paint (slightly watered down.) I made sure to wipe off the excess off the top to not lose the intricate design. Lastly, I coated the whole piece with two coats of Shimmerz Inklingz in Burnished Buckle, again making sure to wipe it from the high points, letting the Liquid Pearls design shine through. I love how it turned out, and in person it is difficult to tell it's not a bronze metal plate.
Here is the sketch that I used from Flying Unicorn
Thank you all for looking and have a lovely day!!!
